Effective Date: September 2026
At Universal Containers LLC, we understand that delivery is an important part of purchasing a shipping container. Our goal is to make the delivery process clear, organized, transparent, and safe from order confirmation through placement at your location.
We coordinate container deliveries throughout the United States based on product availability, delivery location, carrier availability, site accessibility, and the requirements of the specific container.
1. Nationwide Delivery
Universal Containers LLC serves customers throughout the United States.
A flat-rate shipping and delivery fee of $655 applies to standard eligible container deliveries nationwide.
We coordinate deliveries to a variety of locations, including:
- Residential properties
- Construction sites
- Farms
- Warehouses
- Manufacturing facilities
- Commercial properties
- Industrial sites
- Schools
- Government facilities
The $655 flat-rate delivery fee applies to standard deliveries that can be completed using normal transportation and unloading equipment.
Additional charges may apply only when the delivery requires specialized equipment, unusual placement services, difficult-access handling, re-delivery, or other services outside standard delivery. Any known additional charges will be disclosed to the customer before the applicable service is scheduled.
2. Order Processing & Delivery Scheduling
After an order has been confirmed and the required payment has been received and verified, our team begins the delivery coordination process.
Delivery scheduling may involve:
- Confirming the customer’s delivery address.
- Confirming container availability.
- Identifying the appropriate delivery equipment.
- Reviewing site-access requirements.
- Coordinating with the transportation provider.
- Establishing an estimated delivery window.
- Confirming the delivery appointment with the customer.
Delivery dates are estimates until the carrier and delivery appointment have been confirmed.
3. Delivery Times
Delivery time depends on several factors, including:
- Delivery location
- Container availability
- Distance from the inventory location
- Carrier availability
- Container size and type
- Road conditions
- Weather
- Site accessibility
- Special handling requirements
Customers will receive an estimated delivery timeframe after their order and delivery arrangements have been reviewed.
For containers requiring specialized transportation or handling, additional time may be required.
4. Delivery Methods
The delivery equipment used depends on the container, destination, and site conditions.
Tilt-Bed Delivery
Tilt-bed trucks are commonly used for standard container deliveries.
The container is unloaded from the truck by tilting the bed and allowing the container to slide into the prepared placement area.
This method generally requires:
- Adequate truck access
- Sufficient clearance
- A suitable placement surface
- Enough space for the truck and container
Flatbed Delivery
Flatbed transportation may be used for certain container types, longer-distance shipments, or multi-container orders.
Additional unloading equipment may be required where the container cannot be safely unloaded using standard equipment.
Specialized Delivery
Some locations may require specialized equipment or additional planning because of:
- Restricted access
- Sloped terrain
- Limited maneuvering space
- Elevated placement
- Narrow entrances
- Crane requirements
- Other site-specific conditions
The standard $655 flat-rate delivery fee covers eligible standard delivery.
Specialized equipment or services that fall outside normal delivery may result in additional charges. Where reasonably possible, these charges will be communicated and agreed upon before the specialized service is scheduled.
5. Delivery Site Requirements
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their delivery site is prepared before the scheduled delivery.
Access
The delivery route should provide sufficient space for the delivery vehicle and container.
Customers should consider:
- Road width
- Entrance width
- Turning radius
- Driveway conditions
- Overhead clearance
- Utility lines
- Trees and branches
- Buildings and other structures
As a general guideline, customers should allow approximately 12 feet of width and 14 feet of vertical clearance, although actual requirements may vary depending on the delivery equipment and container.
6. Ground Conditions
The placement area should be:
- Firm
- Stable
- Relatively level
- Accessible to the delivery vehicle
- Capable of supporting the container and delivery equipment
Soft, muddy, unstable, or excessively sloped ground may prevent safe delivery.
Customers may need to prepare the site using:
- Gravel
- Concrete pads
- Railroad ties
- Other appropriate support systems
Universal Containers LLC and its delivery providers reserve the right to postpone or decline placement when site conditions create an unsafe situation.
7. Placement Area
Before delivery, customers should ensure that the intended placement location is:
- Clear of vehicles
- Clear of equipment
- Free from debris
- Free from low-hanging branches
- Clear of overhead power lines
- Accessible to the delivery vehicle
- Large enough for the container and unloading process
The customer is responsible for identifying the desired placement location before delivery.
8. Permits & Local Regulations
Container placement requirements vary by city, county, and state.
Depending on the intended use and location, permits or approvals may be required.
Customers are responsible for determining whether their project requires:
- Building permits
- Zoning approval
- Land-use approval
- HOA approval
- Fire-code approval
- Other local permits or permissions
Universal Containers LLC does not guarantee that a container placement will be permitted at a customer’s property.
Customers should contact their local authorities before ordering if they are unsure about applicable requirements.
9. Shipping & Delivery Costs
Universal Containers LLC charges a flat-rate shipping and delivery fee of $655 for standard eligible deliveries throughout the United States.
The standard $655 delivery fee is intended to cover normal transportation and standard unloading or placement under suitable delivery conditions.
The flat-rate fee does not automatically include extraordinary or specialized services such as:
- Crane services
- Specialized lifting equipment
- Difficult-access placement
- Extended unloading services
- Elevated placement
- Additional delivery personnel
- Special transportation arrangements
- Re-delivery caused by an unprepared or inaccessible site
Where additional services are necessary, the applicable additional cost will be disclosed before the service is scheduled whenever reasonably possible.
Customers should review the complete order total, including the container price, the $655 flat-rate delivery fee, and any approved specialized-service charges before completing payment.
10. Special Delivery Services
Additional charges may apply when a delivery requires services beyond standard transportation and placement.
Examples may include:
- Crane services
- Specialized lifting equipment
- Extended unloading requirements
- Difficult-access placement
- Elevated placement
- Additional delivery personnel
- Special transportation arrangements
- Re-delivery caused by an unprepared site
These charges are separate from the standard $655 flat-rate shipping and delivery fee.
Any known additional charges will be communicated before the specialized service is scheduled whenever reasonably possible.
Customers will not be charged for optional specialized services without being informed of the applicable cost beforehand.
11. Customer Responsibilities
To help ensure a successful delivery, customers are responsible for:
Providing Accurate Information
Customers must provide accurate:
- Delivery address
- Contact information
- Site-access information
- Placement instructions
- Property information
Preparing the Site
The customer must ensure that the delivery location is accessible and suitable for placement.
Obtaining Required Permits
Customers are responsible for obtaining any permits or approvals required by their local jurisdiction.
Being Available
Customers should be available during delivery or designate an authorized representative who can assist with placement instructions.
Clearing the Delivery Area
Vehicles, equipment, debris, and other obstacles should be removed before the delivery vehicle arrives.
12. Delivery Delays
Although we work to coordinate deliveries efficiently, circumstances outside our control may affect delivery schedules.
Potential causes include:
- Severe weather
- Traffic
- Road restrictions
- Mechanical problems
- Carrier delays
- Equipment availability
- Unexpected site conditions
- Permit issues
- Natural disasters
- Other unforeseen circumstances
When a significant delay occurs, we will work with the customer and transportation provider to establish a revised delivery schedule.
13. Failed Delivery Attempts
A delivery may be delayed or rescheduled when the driver cannot safely access or place the container.
Examples include:
- Insufficient access
- Blocked driveway
- Low power lines
- Unsafe ground conditions
- Insufficient clearance
- Incorrect delivery address
- Customer not available when required
- Unauthorized placement location
- Severe weather
Additional transportation or re-delivery charges may apply when a failed delivery is caused by conditions within the customer’s responsibility.
Any re-delivery charge is separate from the original $655 flat-rate shipping and delivery fee.
14. Delivery Inspection
Customers should inspect the container after delivery.
We recommend checking:
- Container size
- Container identification number, if applicable
- Exterior condition
- Doors
- Locking mechanisms
- Floor condition
- Roof and walls
- General condition
- Any visible transportation damage
If you believe the delivered container is materially different from what was ordered or has suffered significant transportation damage, contact Universal Containers LLC promptly.
Photographs may be requested to assist with the investigation.
15. Delivery Damage
If damage is discovered upon delivery, customers should:
- Photograph the affected area.
- Photograph the entire container.
- Record the container identification number, if available.
- Contact Universal Containers LLC as soon as possible.
- Avoid repairing or modifying the container before the claim is reviewed, unless necessary to address an immediate safety concern.
Our team will review the circumstances and determine the appropriate next steps.
16. Container Placement
Standard delivery generally means placing the container in an accessible location identified by the customer and approved by the delivery driver.
Drivers have final authority regarding whether a particular placement can be completed safely.
A driver may refuse a requested placement when:
- Ground conditions are unsafe
- Access is insufficient
- Overhead hazards are present
- The truck cannot safely maneuver
- The requested location creates a risk of property damage or injury
Customer safety, driver safety, and protection of property take priority over a requested placement location.
17. Delivery of Multiple Containers
For bulk orders, containers may be delivered in multiple shipments depending on:
- Inventory locations
- Carrier availability
- Route planning
- Container quantity
- Delivery destination
- Equipment availability
Customers will receive applicable scheduling information for multi-container orders.
Unless otherwise stated in the customer’s quotation or order confirmation, the applicable shipping and delivery fee for a multi-container order will be clearly disclosed before payment.
18. Refrigerated & Specialized Containers
Certain products may require specialized transportation or handling.
Examples include:
- Refrigerated containers
- Open-side containers
- Flat-rack containers
- Modified containers
- Office containers
- Custom-built units
The standard $655 flat-rate shipping and delivery fee applies where these products can be transported and placed using normal delivery arrangements.
If specialized equipment or handling is required because of the particular product or delivery location, any additional charge will be disclosed before the specialized service is scheduled whenever reasonably possible.
19. Delivery & Returns
The standard $655 flat-rate shipping and delivery fee is separate from the advertised product price unless the applicable product listing, quotation, or order confirmation expressly states that delivery is included.
If an approved return requires transportation, responsibility for return shipping and related costs will be determined according to our Refund & Return Policy and the circumstances of the return.
The original outbound delivery charge and return-transportation costs will be handled according to the terms applicable to the specific return.
